Don and Rem Dawg

We went to the Red Sox game last Sunday. During the 2-hour rain delay, Delaney got Jerry Remy and Don Orsillo's attention, and they waved at us. Don waved first, then Jerry. Jerry also made a drinking motion to us. Not sure if he meant Chris and me were drinking or Don was because we were all waving like madmen (old camera so stinky photos). Once the rain delay was over the Sox beat up on the Braves. We got to see Andruw Jones strike out FIVE times. Hee. Go Sox!

Squirrel relocation program

We've had A LOT of red squirrels in the yard. They're cute and all, and I don't mind feeding them my bird food, but I don't want them in my house wreaking havoc. So we picked up a live trap and are relocating them. It's probably the same squirrel that keeps coming back, but so far we've caught seven. Baxter thinks the whole operation is way fun:
"I will catch it for you."
"If I wait here quietly it won't see me and I will catch it for you."
"You caught it! Can I play with it?"
Baxter was not allowed to harm any of them. He barks to let me know when one's in the trap and then Mr. Squirrel and I take a little ride and I let him go.

Monday, May 14, 2007

I'm furiously blogging to keep my mind off the fact that my dad is going under the knife (again) at 1:30 today. All prayers and good thoughts appreciated!

Sunset in Minot

Not quite the view I saw at the Grand Canyon, but more peaceful than standing elbow-to-elbow with 100 other people all trying to get the same photo.

Tuppence a bag

In my yard this morning. These are all through (dirty, streaked) glass, so not great shots.

Indigo bunting?

Baltimore oriole:

Ruby-throated hummingbird:

Me, crazy bird lady?

Fun with poochy

Why does Baxter always look so embarrassed in pictures?Could it be because we're about to humiliate him yet again? Delaney brings you Baxter as Sanjaya. Sanbaxter if you will, or perhaps Dogjaya:

Punk rock Baxter:
Ferocious Baxter:
Actually, he's not ferocious. I actually caught him mid-barf there. A few seconds later:
I don't know what that thing on his eye is. I keep photoshopping it out, but it won't seem to go away in real life.
