They're leaving on a jet plane
Two weeks and one hospital stay later than expected, Dad and Eleanor will be flying home to Florida on Saturday morning. He's recovered well (I should have had him pull his shirt collar over and show his gnarly scar for this photo) and gotten the doctor's OK to go home. We're going to miss them very much, but I'm glad they'll be able to go back to their own home and routines. We love you guys!
And we're off to Rangeley for the week! See you when we get back. But thanks to the magic of Blogger, you'll see new photos here on the blog every day.

I'm all right
I went to Gilsland Farm http://www.maineaudubon.org/explore/centers/gilsland.shtml the other day and saw a bunch of woodchucks.
And then the Caddyshack theme started running through my head.

Update on Dad
Hello from the hospital--Dad is doing okay. He had catheterization done today, but no new stents or balloons were placed. The congestive heart failure is still an issue and they are keeping him a few more days to get rid of the fluid. They have also recommended he have a defibrillator placed. I am spending another night here with Eleanor. They have canceled their flight home for Sunday and we will 'wait and see.'

4th of July weekend
Well, we had a very nice 4th of July before the real fireworks started. For those who don't know, we had Dad and Eleanor and Jim, Terry, and Joe up for a BBQ on the 4th, and Dad ended the night at Maine Med with another heart attack. Things are stable and look good now--he'll have his stress test Monday and we'll see if he needs to have anything done from there. We're hoping it was mild and he won't need any catheterization/stents/surgery, etc. Prayers and good thoughts appreciated!
Seems weird that I didn't miss posting a day at all this weekend--it's been kind of a blur. But I had 'pre-posted' a couple of days worth of photos before all this happened. Here's a photo of Joe enjoying the hot tub:

Track meet
Summer track season has started. Here are a few from Delaney's first meet. She tried discus for the first time:
And the 1500 meter for the first time (she usually does shorter sprints):

We think she came in second in discus and know she came in second in the 1500 meter. Pretty good for a first-timer, eh?
